Friend? A friend is someone who is there in times of happiness, sorrow and pain and someone who can trust. These are the people who are closest in our hearts. They can be a best friend, best friends forever (BFF), or whatever they call. Yes, they are here in times of our need. I have many friends, they are special to me and I spend time with them cherishing every moment because life here on earth is limited, you are not sure if you will live this time, and history will be made after us.
I will define again friend, in other terms, the worldly definition.
“A friend is the most painful word your love one said to me.”
Yes, it is true. You loved somebody just like yourself or you even take risks just to express how you love someone and then he/she only said, “Sorry… kaibigan lang eh.” Sad isn’t it? I have experienced this kind of scenarios and it was tragic. I say it to my classmate and to my best friend. I don’t have anything to do but to be sad and say that I’m a loser. Feeling down.
But you know what, this is the truth about this scenarios. When someone say this lines to you, don’t feel sad or don’t feel like losing hope. The real meaning of that phrase means, “Mahal kita kasi ayaw kong masira ang pagkakaibigan natin, mas masaya akong kasama ka ng ganito.” See! It doesn’t mean that he/she didn’t love you, he/she loves you in the way that he/she can feel comfortable, without anything to worry because you we’re good friends. So when someone told you this phrase, accept it. Love is not only for someone that you could almost give your whole world and life, it’s about love to others unconditionally who are important to you and they are what you called friends.
“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”
John 15:13 (KJV)
God bless everyone and be a good friend. :)
